I’d never had problems with Chrome for the first few years I was posting here, but now if I open the post editor my PC’s CPU & disk max out almost immediately and the browser crashes. No clue what’s wrong with the platform these days.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated; I’ve got some car photography that I’m ready to post, but doing that from mobile is a significant ordeal too.

Kinja is optimized for Netscape Navigator 2.0.

Safari on mobile is terrible for writing. The first few characters on the left are cut off in the editor.

Damnit I was going to say the same thing

Can confirm - Chrome is bad now, but Safari is much much worse. Loading pix is impossible.

I have firefox on my home computer, it “works” as much as ever... except for weeks I’ve had to refresh pages several times to be able to see the comments, and it sometimes does lock up the browser but that’s rare.
I have chrome on my work laptop and the handful of times I’ve used it for Oppo it seemed to be equally stable, though I didn’t have to refresh the page to see comments.
I have AOL 3.0 on my other computer but it doesn’t have a NIC so I can’t get online with it
(unless I can dial into Kinja?).

Have you tried accessing kinja via the Matrix?

I use FF on three different machines, running three different operating systems (macOS 10.12, 10.13, and W10) between all three I can embed photos on some, embed instagram and tweet on some, and not on others. I would fault my choice of browser, but it’s inconsistent between my machines.
When did the internet get so hard?

Sounds about the same as Chrome and Safari so I’m not faulting your browser choice.
Unless you need to use the MS browser, whatever it’s called now, but no one is going to try that.

I have no real issues at all using Firefox on my laptop and desktops.

I have noticed I’ve also had to do a lot of refreshing to get comments to show up as well.

I use Firefox, it’s alright. Comments take a few tries to load on main blogs and they sometimes load weird on sub blogs like Oppo, but a refresh usually has it working right

I got tired of the Chrome RAM hog, so I have been running Opera for the past few months. It has been just fine with Oppo, FWIW

duckduckgo works for me except it won’t log in on the fp for some reason. other than that it's solid on mobile.

Serious resources hogging this week on the blog pages. I confirmed that it’s not browser specific or platform specific with these guys. Fortunately Oppo is working for me.

I’m an explorer on safari, looking for the edge of the earth but blinded by the chrome bumpers of the Navigator in front of me.

Meanwhile, their analytics are going “wow this change has greatly
increased page views! We must keep it!”

Generally, I think the problem is the “external loads” for serving up ads. It’s a complete house of card s if those downloads are slow or experience errors. My Chrome basically works, but my Ad Blocker settings are pretty extreme.
I view the site as unusable on Chrome anymore absent an ad blocker. Sadly. I can tolerate a reasonable (one per fresh page load?) ad load, but this is ridiculous by now .

I’d also like to know. Ive mostly given up on posting. I have to try 2 or 3 times to get posts to save on my computer using C hrome, and that’s if I can stand how laggy the typing gets. C ommenting usually works okay. On my phone, posts work alright speed-wise, and usually save, but as others mentioned, Safari cuts off the first couple letters which makes things difficult. Then comments are so laggy that it’s not possible to comment on my phone.

none. kinja doesn’t work on any browser.

Oddly mobile safari work OK on iPhone 8 for me. A little glitchy now and then - sometimes photos take more than once. Sometimes the text gets biggie sized and the width goes wrong but a couple reloads usually fixes that.

There is no such thing as using a browser properly on Kinja. Come armed with an ad-blocker. Try the usual trifecta, as that covers all bases (Firefox, Chrome-based browser of your choice, and Edge).
If all else fails, throw IE at the problem. Websites will dumb themselves down for that thing still.

I use Safari at home, mainly because it supports auto correct when I’m writing long posts. I don’t have any significant issues.
